I've worked in radio since I was 15. Been growing up with all these great tunes since Junior High, so I figured I'd try to get on the local station as soon as possible.
I'm born in New York but raised in Los Angeles. So at a very early age I learned that there's a lot of country in between. I figured the best way to see the country was by getting disc jockey jobs anywhere I could. I worked in Wheeling, West Virgina, Greenville, Mississippi, Madison, Wisconsin. All over California and New York.
My family is spread out all over the place. My Mothers side of the family is from a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. We'd get there often growing up and still do. My Dad's been living in Georgia for several years. My brother has a house in Newport, Rhode Island so we get the kids together there on a regular basis. I also know the wisdom of heading south to Florida. Spend time in Miami/Fort Lauderdale on weekends.
I have also done some acting both on stage and in Film/TV. Did a few cameos on the soaps and in Law And Order a couple of times. Films are always fun.
It's important to me to get you thru the arc of a day musically. Quite a few of the tunes are feel good songs, geared toward giving little "pick me ups" to keep your day bright. We'll also play the best classics ever made. And we have some of the greatest "love" or "love lost" songs ever made (depending on what you're feeling in the moment}. We'll play plenty of both every day.
Most of our rap will be "music-centric" with some topical, entertainment and human interest stuff sprinkled in. I like to keep the music rolling fluidly, so I don't talk much. But I try to get in several thoughts of interest in a very quick manner over the course of the day.
Look forward to serving you up the tunes and I look forward to hearing from you. You can always check me out at Iheartradio.com Keyword: Cope OR follow me as CopeRocks on TWITTER.COM
