The reason I got into radio was to make a difference. I'm personally involved with many local organizations, as well as the hundreds we work with through the station. Here are just a few of the groups I spend more time helping:
University of Iowa Children's Hospital, CMN, and Dance Marathon
The ARC of East Central Iowa
Knights of Columbus
Marion Youth Baseball
I enjoy coaching baseball, playing tennis, kickboxing, listening to music, playing board games with my kids, riding rollercoasters and taking long walks on the beach.
My favorite teams that I follow:
· Minnesota Vikings Football
· Nebraska Cornhuskers Football
· Univ of North Dakota Fighting Sioux Hockey
· Linn Mar Lions
· Iowa Hawkeyes
· Minnesota Twins & Cincinnati Reds Baseball
While my grandfathers could go hard liquor drink for drink with anyone, neither of my grandmothers were huge drinkers. Could your Grandmother chug a beer bong? Check out this Penn State Grandma hiiting the beer bong with a bunch of PSU tailgators guys.
If you like Classic R & B and you like Paul Roger's voice, then his new album is something you'll want to get when it's released. He is covering some classic artists like Ottis Redding and Albert King. Here's a sneak peek behind his Royal Sessions..
Just when you thought the younger generation is all about themselves and lack moral values, something like this happens which gives us hope. A few college students have created something called reverse pickpocketing, where they take peoples wallets or purses and put money into them and return it. Check it out. Now the only thing more noble would be if they did this secretly and din't do it to promote themselves and let one of the major TV news services piuck up on the story. Regardless, it's still a nice thing to do and reminds all of us that there are those who could use a little help, especially around the holidays.
As an Eagle Scout, I learned to always try to be prepared for emergencies, whether going camping or just having the right emergency kit available for taking a trip. With winter weather coming soon I have begun gathering items for our vehicles. Along with the standard items , first aid kit, water, tools, etc, I will be including a pack of wriggly's chewing gum and a 4 pack of AA batteries. Why, to start a fire. I happened to see this online and tried it.. it really works. Warning, don't use anything stronger or you will get quite a shock.
Just wondering what this is? It has nothing to do with what you were thinking.I was refering to some construction. First for the Historical one - New York City is now the home to America's biggest erected building the new One World Trade Center, which is now taller than the Willis Tower in Chicago, which most people including myself know it as the Sear's tower. The Sears tower was the tallest for about 40 years.
The 3 minute one I am refering to actually took 3 months to construct but only 3 minutes to destroy. It was an erection of over 25,000 dominoes in a consecutive chain or tricks and gimmicks. Obviously somoeone who had some free time while waiting for the Obamacare website to work. I've helped my kids make domino things many times. You really need a steady hand. Anyone who has tried this before knows that just one bump of the table or misplaced or falling tile can ruin 30 minutes of work. I can't even imagine wasting 3 months on something like this which has only 3 minutes worth of entertainment value.
