The reason I got into radio was to make a difference. I'm personally involved with many local organizations, as well as the hundreds we work with through the station. Here are just a few of the groups I spend more time helping:
University of Iowa Children's Hospital, CMN, and Dance Marathon
The ARC of East Central Iowa
Knights of Columbus
Marion Youth Baseball
I enjoy coaching baseball, playing tennis, kickboxing, listening to music, playing board games with my kids, riding rollercoasters and taking long walks on the beach.
My favorite teams that I follow:
· Minnesota Vikings Football
· Nebraska Cornhuskers Football
· Univ of North Dakota Fighting Sioux Hockey
· Linn Mar Lions
· Iowa Hawkeyes
· Minnesota Twins & Cincinnati Reds Baseball
While I can appreciate his conviction, a popular Hot Dog vendor in Detroit, known for singing in the stands, has always had a 'mustard only' policy when serving dogs to his fans. He feels putting ketchup on one is one of the worst things you can do. I myself am partial to mustard and onions, rather than Ketchup which has become america's 5th food group. He refused to put the condiment on the hot dog and actually got combative with the fams. Of course, you know what happens. They file a compalint and take it out on social media.. now everyone is taking sides and he is out of a job. I'm sure he will relish the moments he had over the years.
