The reason I got into radio was to make a difference. I'm personally involved with many local organizations, as well as the hundreds we work with through the station. Here are just a few of the groups I spend more time helping:
University of Iowa Children's Hospital, CMN, and Dance Marathon
The ARC of East Central Iowa
Knights of Columbus
Marion Youth Baseball
I enjoy coaching baseball, playing tennis, kickboxing, listening to music, playing board games with my kids, riding rollercoasters and taking long walks on the beach.
My favorite teams that I follow:
· Minnesota Vikings Football
· Nebraska Cornhuskers Football
· Univ of North Dakota Fighting Sioux Hockey
· Linn Mar Lions
· Iowa Hawkeyes
· Minnesota Twins & Cincinnati Reds Baseball
While the accounts and events of yesterday's terr in Boston are a shocking reminder of how disturbed and evil some people in the world are, there are always examples of bravery and compassion from random strangers that shed a beam of hope. As I watched video of people running for their safety and out of harms way, it was great to see that not everyone is only looking out for themselves. Countless numbers of p-eople were seen running towards the blasts to aid in rescue efforts or medical assistance. I'm not faulting anyone for fleeing the scene for safety, which is a natual instinct. I would hope that there are those who will continue to think about the well-being of others as we have not seen the end of these terror acts of volence in our lifetime. Godd Bless Boston and the United State.
