The Illustrated Man" is a book by Ray Bradbury about a wanderer loaded with killer tattoos that come to life and tell the story of his existence in a post World War II world. I'm actually not quite that deep. I'm just a tattooed guy from Peabody (pronounced pea-biddy) Massachusetts who is the oldest of 7 kids. 5 brothers, my sister and me. And if you think I have a lotta tattoos, you should see my sister. Mom is wicked proud.
After finishing high school I joined the U.S. Navy as an Avaition Botswain's Fueler (basically I was a gas station attendant for an aircraft carrier) on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson. All I gotta say about that is "live and learn baby".
Day-um, look at me fresh outa boot camp, 18 and scared to freakin' death. It's a classic. After I was discharged I went back to Massachusetts for about 2 years, grew out my doo, and decided to move here to Iowa. One of the best moves I ever made.
Since arriving here in '93 I started my own a reptile shop called Serpentine Motion . I bred several types of snakes, lizards and even birds. When it comes to cold blooded animals, I know my stuff. I sold Serpentine Motion in 1999 and moved back to Massachusetts to try my hand at stand-up comedy. Turns out I was about as funny as a fart in a spacesuit and I spent most of my time there bartending and working at a Kid's Zoo in the summer and snow plowing in the winter. I got sick of that pretty quick and came back here to Iowa in 2001, when my good buddy heard I was back in town and lemme know they had a part-time, weekend gig available at 100.7 The Fox. Wicked freakin' sweet. I think I scared the program director and our beautiful sales staff with my appearance when I first arrived, I was still a body piercer at Nemesis Tattoo in Iowa City at the time to boot, but the girls warmed up to me after a few drinks and some hefty cash bribes. I've been at The Fox ever since. I've met a lotta cool people working here and I plan to stay for as long as it takes to become bloody rich!
